Nasarawa Killings: Tiv/Fulani Reconcile, Sign Peace Pact

Fulani and indigenous Tiv farmers in Nasarawa State on Thursday signed a peace pact to end the ongoing killings in the southern senatorial zone of the state.

The peace pact was signed in Lafia, the state capital when the two warring parties converged to come out with the amicable solutions that would bring lasting peace in the southern senatorial district.
Speaking during the meeting, Mohammed Hussaini, Nasarawa State Chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) said the meeting was aimed at bringing an end to the killings.
He said that if the two groups have agreed to stay in peace with each other in their communities, they do not need any security to enforce any peace.
Mohammed advised all the Fulani people in the state not to take the laws into their hands but report any provocative action to their leaders for prompt action.
