Why NHIS Executive Secretary, Usman Was Suspended

The Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria at the NHIS revisited the alleged misconduct done by Mr USman  yussuf, who was suspended last year from his position as  the Executive Secretary of the scheme.

With hopes of turning a new leaf, he was reinstated but he continued in his old ways which led to the re-opening of his misconducts.

In the midst of the controversy, the senior workers at the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) had earlier urged the Nigerian government to ask the Executive Secretary of the scheme, Usman Yusuf, to step aside after again accusing him of fraud.

He was thereby suspended by the Minister of Health, Isaac Adewole over alleged gross misconduct and fraud in July 2017 and set up a panel for thorough  investigation.
