Remains of Washington Columnist found. After weeks of Washington Columnist Jamal Khashoggi's disappearance, which happened at the Saudi consulate in Turkey, the remains of journalist have been found. A major political realignment took place in Akwa Ibom State on Saturday when 14 former chapter chairmen of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) declared their support for the All Progressives Congress (APC). The Presidency has summoned the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr Udom Emmanuel over repeated cases of violence against APC members in Akwa Ibom State.  The Governor is said to have reported in Aso Rock Villa on Tuesday evening following unease in security circles that if left unchecked the situation may degenerate into full-blown crisis. Ahead of the soon to be launched mandatory Lagos State Health Scheme (LSHS), the State Government on Monday said it would adopt a technology-based application that would go a long way to ensure easy access of the scheme by residents, especially for underprivileged households. The LSHS is a state-wide health insurance initiative targeted to ensure that all residents of the state have access to quality, affordable health care services. The scheme covers treatment of common adult and childhood ailments, maternal and child services, preventive health care services, selected non-communicable diseases and surgeries. The former governor of Ekiti State, who appeared in federal high court in Lagos, is to remain in EFCC custody after the court hearing. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arraigned Fayose on an 11 count charge of conspiracy and money laundering against him accusing him of benefitting from N4.65billion funds allocated by the office of National Security Adviser (ONSA) during the Goodluck Jonathan  Administration. It was reported that the former governor acquired property in Abuja and Lagos also illegally acquiring property in the name of his sister in Abuja and others. However, the Ex governor has pleaded not guilty of the charges. His counsel, Kanu Agabi, filed a bail application on behalf of his client but the presiding judge Mojisola Olatoregun, said the application would be considered later. she has ordered that Fayose remains in EFCC custody till Wednesday.

Ethiopian doctors extracted over a hundred iron nails and other sharp objects from the stomach of a patient in the capital Addis Ababa at the weekend. Dawit Teare, a surgeon at St. Peter’s Specialised Hospital, said the 33-year-old patient suffers from mental illness and had apparently consumed the items, including 122 four inches (10 centimeters) nails, four pins, a toothpick and pieces of broken glass. “The patient has been suffering from mental illness for the last 10 years and had stopped taking his medication two years ago, one probable reason he started consuming inanimate objects,” Dawit told  AFP  after the two-and-a-half hour operation. I’m guessing he consumed the objects with the help of water, however, he is a lucky person that those sharp objects didn’t cut his stomach. Policemen numbering close to 50 broke the gates to the headquarters of the National Health Insurance Scheme, escorting the suspended Executive Secretary, Professor Usman Yusuf, into the premises. According to Punch Newspaper's correspondent who was on the scene reported that the policemen fired tear gas to disperse members of staff, who had attempted to prevent Usman from gaining entry. The Lagos State Government on Sunday said concerted efforts were on to rehabilitate failed portions of highways and roads across the metropolis, with a pledge to aggressively fix potholes in coming days. The State’s Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Mr Ade Akinsanya, in a statement, said though many roads across the State had been fixed in the last few weeks, the Government would nonetheless scale up efforts to ensure that all dilapidated sections of roads across the State were rehabilitated to bring comfort to residents and motorists.      Already, Akinsanya said roads in strategic areas across the State including Ikorodu, Itokin, Lekki, Ojota, Lawanson Road, Ogunlana Drive, Abraham Adesanya, among others have been fixed with motorists and commuters experiencing less travel time by driving smoothly on the roads. Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo has mocked the national leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Obasanjo said he did not know the leadership position Tinubu was occupying in the APC. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC has moved ex-governor of Ekiti state, Ayo Fayose from its Abuja office to Lagos state where he will be tried at a Federal High Court on Monday October 22nd. Fayose visited the anti-graft agency's office on Tuesday, October 16th, to answer questions regarding his involvement in the $2.1 billion arms procurement funds. He is alleged to have received N1.3 billion from the office of the former National Security officer, Sambo Dasuki, through Musiliu Obanikoro for the rigging of the 2014 governorship election in Ekiti state.
