Abductors Demand N70m to Set Siasia's Mom Free

The Abductors of the 76 years old mother of the Ex-Super Eagles player and coach, Samson Siasia, has demanded N70m before they would set her free. According to Legit.ng, his mother Mrs. Beauty Ogere was abducted on Monday, July 15. Unidentified gunmen raided the house of the ex-Super Eagles coach and they took his mom alongside a woman and her 15 years old daughter. The abduction took place at Odoni community in Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State. According to the Nation, the abductors reached out to Siasia with a foreign number to state their demands. It was through the phone call he spoke with his mother and the two others that were kidnapped on that fateful day. This is said to be the second time she has been kidnapped. The first abduction took place on November 17, 2015.

Amaju Pinnick 1st Vice-President of CAF was Replaced by Omari Selemani

According to Legit,ng, Amaju Pinnick has been removed as the 1 st Vice President of CAF. This came after the CAF executive congress was held today Thursday. The CAF president after seeking permission from the Executive Council asked Amaju Pinnick to replace Kwesi Nyantakyi. Kwesi had to quit the post last year due to the corruption scandal surrounding Ghana Football Association. But today the story is on another level. Pinnick himself has now been removed and replaced by Constant Omari Selemani. Selemani is said to be a member of the FIFA Council and a Congolese football administrator. The reason for Pinnick being replaced with Selemani is yet to be made known. Pinnick is the president of Nigeria Football Federation.

The undaunted Zimbabwean fan Alvin Zhakata who trekked 10,000km to Egypt would be rewarded by CAF. Aluvah Zhakata’s trekking tale is one that should inspire many never to give up on their pursuit in life. Zhakata and his friend Botha Msila undertook the journey from Cape Town in South Africa to Egypt's capital Cairo. Their love for football and the passion to support their National team made them count not the cost for embarking on such a journey. They knew not what the 44 days trip would be all about yet they went ahead. According to Legit.ng, when they got to Kenya Msila could not get a visa to cross the Kenya-Ethiopian border and was held back at Nairobi. Luck fell on him to bring his desire to fruition; a South African journalist opted to assist him to get to Cairo. He paid Msila's flight ticket to Cairo. He has evaluated his role and contributions to the just concluded AFCON and realized that it is time for him to bid farewell to his participation in the Super Eagles team. The first choice goaltender of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Daniel Akpeyi, has said that the decision to rest him in their third-place game against Tunisia has nothing to do with criticism on his performance against Algeria but it was to create room for other keepers to participate in the tournament.
